Here on the wide Swedish coast, you begin your hike in an area with several ancient remains like cairns from the Bronze Age, which indicate that people have travelled here along the coast for thousands of years. Next to the starting point is a small beach where you can reflect upon this ancient and fascinating history and the trails of the past. You yourself are a part of the everlasting human need for movement and change.

The trail follows small roads during the first stage, which makes it easy to walk. When you have walked for a bit, you arrive at Långvinds bruk, an old industrial community, idyllic and interesting, where you should spend some time and get to know the surroundings. In the summertime there is increased service in the area like a café, a restaurant, a museum and accommodation.

The end of the stage is the old church of Enånger. This is well worth a visit, and daytime you can find the key up at the parsonage. Don't forget to return it!

The trail is largely marked with poles carrying the mark of St. Olav, and sometimes with hangers with the mark, or stickers with the mark on lampposts, and at times with orange colour painted on trees.
