The stage starts at Staffansstenen, Själstuga, where according to several chronicles, Sankt Staffan, the apostle of Hälsingland, was killed. This is a short stage that ends when you reach the ruins of the medieval church of Skog.

In the new church of Skog, there is a copy of Skogbonaden, one of Sweden’s oldest textile tapestry with woven motives. It is dated to the Middle Age and the early years of the church and Christianity in Sweden. The original tapestry is currently being stored at the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm.
